Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Poland has built more than 100 km of barriers on the border with Russia

The Polish army has built more than 100 kilometers of barbed wire on the border with Russia, said Miroslava Alexandrovitch, spokeswoman for the Warmia-Mazury Department of the Republic Border Guards. Thus, more than half of the land border with the Kaliningrad region, almost 200 km long, was surrounded by barbed wire.

Construction of the barbed wire fence is currently underway in most areas under the jurisdiction of individual Border Guard outposts. In total, 107 kilometers of this barrier have already been built.

said Alexandrovich.

The Polish army started building a barrier on the border in November 2022. It consists of three rows of barbed wire 2.5 meters high and 3 meters wide. At the border with the Kaliningrad region in early April, Poland also plans to install electronic barriers using a system of sensors and cameras.

Earlier it was reported that near the borders of Russia and Belarus there was increased activity of NATO reconnaissance aircraft. North Atlantic Alliance reconnaissance aircraft are very active near the Kaliningrad region and near the borders of Russia and Belarus. We note in particular the presence of the Bombardier Challenger 604 RER plane in this region.
