Andrey Nazarov called for a big expansion of the KHL

Coach Andrei Nazarov has called for a significant expansion of the KHL.

In particular, in his opinion, Togliatti Lada and Novokuznetsk Metallurg should return to the league, as well as Krasnoyarsk Sokol to play there.

Nazarov offered to create a third club in the Far East. In addition, we need second clubs from St. Petersburg, Belarus and Kazakhstan and a new club in Kaliningrad.

Nazarov noted that there will be enough players for new clubs due to the more active development of youth hockey.

“To connect more young people, to make a new system of competitions with a play-in, so that inferior teams have additional chances to enter the playoffs. Russia is a country of great opportunities, there are room to develop”, said the “Championship” quote.
