Bird Flu wreaks havoc in Japan’s Aomori Prefecture, more than 3 lakh chickens will be killed

Tokyo: Due to the new outbreak of bird flu in Japan’s Aomori province, about 3 lakh 30 thousand chickens will be killed. The local administration gave this information on Friday. In a statement issued here today, the administration said that ‘on March 23, the concerned institutions received a message about an increase in the number of dead birds at a farm. After examining the presence of bird flu virus, the results of 11 out of 13 birds were found positive. He said that three lakh 30 thousand chickens would be killed.

He informed that the authorities have started quarantining the transportation of chickens and eggs within a radius of three km area around the firm. Apart from this, the officials will disinfect the firm and the equipment. This is the third outbreak of bird flu this season in Aomori Prefecture. Taking into account the latest outbreaks, the number of chickens killed this season in Japan has exceeded 15 million, the highest ever in the country. Bird flu has been found in 25 of the country’s 47 provinces since October 28 last year. Apart from this, the price of chicken and eggs is at the peak of the last 29 years due to the virus.
