Tennis great Martina Navratilova has said she has recovered from cancer of the throat and breast and has returned to her work for the TV channel through the Miami Open .
“It feels good to be back,” said the 18-time Grand Slam singles champion. “Thrilled to be here. Happy to work.”
She said she lost her taste and lost 15 pounds during cancer treatment. She did not appear on TV at the Australian Open and the BNP Paribas Open.
She said in an interview, “As far as I have been told by the doctors, now I do not have cancer. I’ll keep checking.”
Navratilova was diagnosed with stage 1 cancer in 2010.
