Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Reuters: China shows no interest in arranging conversation between Xi Jinping and Biden

The behavior of the Chinese side does not indicate its interest in holding a phone conversation between Chinese President Xi Jinping and the 46th US President Joe Biden. An article about this was published by Reuters, citing its own sources.

The material indicates that the conversation between the heads of state would mark the beginning of a move towards normalization of China-US relations. At the same time, the agency writes that, despite the efforts of American diplomats, Beijing “has not shown much interest” in the corresponding initiative.

The last time Biden and Xi Jinping had contact was on the sidelines of the G20 summit, held last November in Bali. Since then, they haven’t had a single phone conversation.

Earlier, former CIA chief and former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo accused the current White House chief of making a strategic mistake for Washington. According to him, it lies in the fact that Biden has brought Moscow and Beijing closer together.
