Saakashvili blamed ‘Russian Georgian special service agents’ for his poisoning

Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili has said “Russian agents” who allegedly infiltrated Georgian special services were involved in his poisoning, Politico reports.

“Russian agents ‘infiltrated the Georgian security services’…I remember the day the poison was applied, I almost died. Since that time I have been in poor health,” the publication quotes his words from written responses sent to him through American comedian Massimo Di Angelo.

According to Saakashvili, decisions about his treatment are not made by doctors, but by special services.

The article also says Saakashvili blames former prime minister and founder of the ruling Georgian Dream party, Bidzina Ivanishvili, for his deteriorating health. In his opinion, the ex-prime minister acted on “Russian instructions” and also “captured Georgia”, controlling all branches of power.

Saakashvili has previously said he wants to help the country while he is at home. He noted that in the future he would be busy supporting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy .
