The head of TikTok’s video service, Show Chu, spoke before the US Congress and tried to convince its representatives that the portal does not have an adverse effect on state security.

The CEO of Chinese company TikTok, which owns one of the most popular short video services, has been invited to the US Congress. His time there can easily be compared to an interrogation, as American politicians did not follow the morals and began to question him head-on.

Show Zi Chu is in the US Parliament amid statements by representatives of the People’s Republic of China regarding the alleged separation of the US part of the company from the parent company. To date, US authorities have taken a number of restrictive measures against the TikTok organization. In particular, government officials have been banned from using the platform on official devices.

Earlier, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said TikTok should be banned in the US due to a national security threat.
