BFM: at least 200 people were injured during the riots in Saint-Solin, France

At least 200 people were injured in riots during a demonstration in the French commune of Sainte-Solin. This was reported by the BFMTV channel. The French Interior Ministry said 35 police officers were among the injured.

On Saturday in western France, representatives of 150 different parties and organizations opposed the construction of a reservoir in the region. At some point, violent clashes with law enforcement began to be noted. Protesters began throwing pyrotechnics and Mototov cocktails at law enforcement. At least four police cars burned. The police dispersed the rebels with stun grenades.

To create a tank in the town of Sainte-Soline, it was planned to combine 16 smaller tanks. But local farmers said such a plan would benefit large-scale farmers, while smallholders risk running out of water, as happened during the record-breaking drought of 2022.
