«picnic» Fire station technician

The Artists’ Headquarters Fire Station continues, currently, with the Nuzha 88 exhibition, until next May 13, in Gallery 3. Nuzha 88 is a solo exhibition by the artist Anfal Al-Kandari, and it is an extension of the theme of the inner child and parallel worlds, where Anfal Al-Kandari reconsiders her personal memories and evokes Visual elements in the past to project onto the present. The exhibition presents a reimagined scene of a picnic the artist took when she was six years old in 1988. This installation builds on elements evident in her work that reflect themes of nostalgia and personal experiences using the vibrant colors and gestures of the drawings. The artist, Anfal Al-Kandari, obtained a master’s degree in visual arts from the University of the Arts in London, and works mainly in drawing and painting, with an interest in installation works and digital arts. She explores topics related to the child who lives inside the human being, the dark and light shadows within the human self, and parallel worlds.
