Smolensk photographers can take part in the VII International Photography Contest “Russian Civilization”.
The organizer of the photo contest is the Federal Agency for Nationalities Affairs (RICA of Russia) The goal of the photo contest is to harmonize interethnic relations and ethnocultural development of the peoples of Russia by drawing the attention of citizens to the origins and traditions of Russian culture.
Professional and amateur photographers over the age of 18 can participate in the competition, regardless of gender, place of residence and profession.
The competition takes place in the following categories:
1) Uniqueness. Landscape photographs showing unique views, the beauty of Russian nature, unknown corners of travelers, the wild nature of Russia (forests, rivers, lakes, mountains, meadows, etc.). Photographs may include animals, birds.
2) People and generations. Portrait photographs (individual, pair or group photos of people), conveying the national flavor (outwardly) and revealing the Russian character, originality and mystery of the human soul.
3) Traditions of a great country. Works in this category (reportage photographs), revealing the multinationality and identity of the peoples of Russia, who have not lost their heritage in the age of information and modern technologies: traditions, customs and the connection secular generations (national holidays, weddings, ancient rituals).
4) Architecture and sculpture. Photographs demonstrating the uniqueness of both artistic monuments that contain many folk traditions and tell about the origin of Russian architecture, as well as modern architectural structures that recreate elements of ancient Russian culture and reflect national characteristics (unique buildings , sculptures, murals, carved palisades, etc…).
5) Spiritual ties. Photographs of both a portrait shot (photographs of single people, couples or groups) and landscapes that reveal the spirituality of Russian civilization, its identity and its civilizational journey (author’s photo, photographs of places saints and religious objects).
6) Family values. Photographs (individual, couple or group of people photographs) that convey the national flavor of the families of the peoples of Russia and reveal their traditions, rituals and values.
7) Multinational Moscow. Photographs showing Moscow as a city where people of different nationalities live, work and relax. Photographic works should reflect the peculiarities of the capital of Russia, which has become the home of representatives of hundreds of different nations. The unique atmosphere of the capital is enriched by the interpenetration of different cultures. Moscow is a place where East and West, North and South meet. In the photographs of the competition, the image of Moscow as the center of multinational Russia can appear vividly and unexpectedly.
