The Qatar Table Tennis Association organized the competitions of the first edition of the Ramadan Ambassadors Championship at Lusail Sports Hall, with the large participation of a number of ambassadors to the State of Qatar. Yesterday, 60 matches were held on seven tables, according to the league system from one stage, before the semi-finals were qualified by His Excellency Mr. Safras Ahmed, Ambassador of the Republic of Guyana, His Excellency Mr. Drago Lovric, Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia, and His Excellency Mr. Jose Penzaken Perea, Ambassador of the Republic of Peru. His Excellency Mr. Jean-Marie François Junior Guillaume, Ambassador of the Republic of Haiti. The Croatian ambassador was able to defeat his counterpart, the Peruvian ambassador, by two sets, while the Croatian ambassador managed to reach the final, by defeating the Haitian ambassador, by two sets to one. In the final match, His Excellency Mr. Safras Ahmed, Ambassador of the Republic of Guyana, was able to crown the championship in its first edition, by defeating His Excellency Mr. Drago Lovric, Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia, in two sets, free of charge. Mr. Khalil bin Ahmed Al-Muhannadi, President of the Qatar Table Tennis Federation, President of the Arab and Asian Federations, and First Vice President of the International Table Tennis Federation, expressed his happiness with the distinguished atmosphere witnessed by the tournament in its first edition. In an exclusive statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Al-Muhannadi added: "We were keen to organize the tournament after studying the idea and decided to organize it after the great welcome of participation by the ambassadors, in addition to the fact that the Federation organizes a number of Ramadan activation tournaments every year.". Concluding his remarks to QNA, the President of the Asian Table Tennis Federation said: "I think that the participation of 24 ambassadors in the first edition is very wonderful, and everyone witnessed the distinguished atmosphere during the competitions, and I think that a good activity is added to the balance of the tournaments organized by the Qatar Football Association, and we will strive to continue this tournament in every Ramadan season and expand the base of participation in it". For his part, Mr. Ali Sultan Al-Muftah, Assistant Secretary of the Qatar Football Association, said that the great interest of the ambassadors in the international and international tournaments as well as the professional tournaments organized in Qatar prompted the Qatar Federation to organize this Ramadan tournament, which is a new idea at the level of Ramadan tournaments, stressing that the atmosphere It took place in a distinctive way and the competition was good during the competitions. He added in a similar statement, "There was a great desire to participate by many diplomatic bodies in the country, but the organizing committee wanted to allocate the first edition to ambassadors only, and the organization of the tournament will be studied extensively in the next edition.".
