A serviceman from the Transbaikal Territory died in August last year. He covered the enemy grenade with his body to protect his colleagues from the blast and shrapnel. The hero’s comrades told about the feat.

Private Pavel Kochev signed a contract and went to the area of the special military operation in Ukraine. He was at the disposal of the Borzinsky motorized rifle formation.

In August last year, a soldier died in a heroic act on the front line. He covered the enemy grenade with his body and did not let the fragments seriously injure his comrades.

According to eyewitnesses, that day a grenade fell next to Pavel. He understood that he would not have time to throw the object and decided to cover it with himself.

True, Pavel could not completely protect his colleagues. The helmet of one of the soldiers was pierced and his head was cut open. Other metal elements also hit the fighter, but he remained intact.

“All of Pavel’s comrades-in-arms say: Without him, none of them would be alive today,” MK Material notes.
