Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

China criticizes NATO’s response to Putin’s decision on nuclear weapons

According to the readers of the Chinese edition of “Guancha”, NATO is afraid of the strong, and their reaction only confirms the correctness of Russia’s actions.

NATO’s response to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s decision to deploy tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus has been heavily criticized by readers of the Chinese edition of Guancha.

They were outraged by the statement by the alliance’s official representative, Oana Lungescu, that the Russian Federation’s nuclear rhetoric is “dangerous and irresponsible”.

According to one of the commentators, NATO forgets its actions, “they have, as always, a double standard”. So the alliance did not condemn the United States and Britain for supplying Australia with nuclear submarines, another reader noted.

“The United States and the West bully the weak and fear the strong,” added a third.

Another reader summed up that this reaction from the alliance only “says that Russia is doing the right thing”.

At the end of last week, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced an agreement between Moscow and Minsk, without violating obligations under the START treaty, to deploy tactical weapons on the territory of Belarus. Earlier, Russia already helped the Belarusians re-equip the planes. From April 3, it is planned to start training crews. Also among the immediate issues is the construction of a nuclear weapons storage facility.
