A number of engineers confirmed the multiplicity of the causes of building collapse, pointing out that the process of studying the causes of building collapse takes more time to search and investigate, and to take samples to find out the fault that caused the collapse.
In a survey conducted by Al Sharq, the engineers confirmed that there are several reasons for the collapse of buildings:
The first reason: the life span of the building, and the lack of maintenance work on time
The second reason: misuse, by removing the concrete structure that may affect the building and lead to its fall.
Engineering reasons: It starts from the design stage of the building, as any errors that the consulting office may make in the process of calculating the various loads may lead to problems that cause the building to shorten the life span or collapse at worst.
They also stressed that the property owner should choose a good engineering office, as well as choose the engineering supervision and contractor, especially since the contracting market is an open market, and it must be controlled and entered only by specialists.
They pointed out that any maintenance or expansion of the building must be carried out in accordance with engineering principles and municipal procedures, using specialized technical workers, and under the supervision of a structural engineer, as any errors here may be catastrophic and cause a sudden collapse of the building.
