Health: Approval of licensing allied health practitioners

The Department of Health Specialties at the Ministry of Public Health issued a circular licensing some paramedical practitioners within the cadres of the First Aid Unit or clinics affiliated to schools or companies, in addition to nursing cadres and doctors. The circular, which Al-Sharq obtained a copy of, comes within the framework of expanding the range of medical and health cadres that can be licensed on the first aid unit or clinics affiliated with schools or companies. Issuing the circular after the decision of the Standing Committee for Licensing in its meeting No. 3 of 2023, and the decision stipulated the approval of licensing practitioners of the assisting medical professions within the cadres of the first aid unit or clinics affiliated with schools or companies, in addition to the nursing cadres and doctors if they fulfill all the conditions and requirements for registration and licensing. The list includes A physiotherapist, an occupational therapist, a psychologist, a psychological counsellor, an audiologist, a special education specialist, and a speech pathologist. This decision came to legalize the status of paramedical practitioners who work in schools and some companies. It also contributes to providing comprehensive and integrated services for students and workers in physical and occupational therapy and psychological counseling services.
