Moscow considers Yerevan’s plans to join the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC) absolutely unacceptable, reports the Telegram channel “You listened to Mayak”, citing a source in the Russian Foreign Ministry.

On March 24, the Constitutional Court of Armenia recognized compliance with the Rome Statute. The obligations established by the declaration of retroactive recognition of the jurisdiction of the ICC are in accordance with the fundamental law of the country.

On March 17, the ICC issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin and Children’s Ombudsman Maria Lvova-Belova. Later, Security Council Vice President Dmitry Medvedev threatened to hit The Hague courthouse with an Onyx hypersonic missile, while the UK opened a criminal case against the ICC prosecutor and judges. who made the decision. On this occasion, the Presidency of the Assembly of States Parties to the Rome Statute expressed its regrets and concerns in this regard.
