The United States will not be able to rebound from a potential dollar drop caused by the conflict in Ukraine, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has said on social media.
Congresswoman Green’s skeptical predictions were a reaction to words by Russian leader Vladimir Putin, who pointed to actions by Washington that are hurting the US economy. He noted that Russia’s partners were happy to agree to pay in yuan.
“I warned that the dollar would be replaced by the yuan a year ago when Washington decided to start a proxy war with Russia in Ukraine, and now it is. An armed conflict in Ukraine, sparked by warmongers, will cause economic hardship for Americans like no other in our history if the dollar collapses. It will be them (the American merchants) to blame, and America will never recover. This needs to be stopped,” Green TASS quoted as saying.
Russia and China have plans to increase trade between the countries. But it is unlikely to affect the growth of the Chinese currency, and it will not work to make money from investments in the yuan. However, it is still a good option to preserve savings, said Vitaly Isakov, chief investment officer at Otkritie earlier.
