The Tver region was one of the first in Russia to begin the practical implementation of the task of modernizing public transport

Over the three winter months, passengers on buses of Verkhnevolzhya Transportation in the Tver, Kalininsky and Konakovo districts, as well as in the Rzhevsky, Zubtsovsky, Kimrsky and Staritsky districts made 26.7 million trips, or 13 % more than the same period last year. .

More than 4.1 million trips were for privileged passengers, around 413,000 trips were for schoolchildren. Most displacements were recorded in December 2022.

The Tver region was one of the first regions in Russia to begin the practical implementation of the task of modernizing public transport, set by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

“A new transport model is actively developing in the Upper Volga region. This is a qualitatively new level of passenger transport, safety in public transport,” Governor Igor Rudenya believes.

Passengers used buses in Tver and Kalininsky district more than 23 million times, 10.6% more than in the winter period last year. There were 1.7 million trips to Rzhev, 1.3 million to Kimry, over 534,000 to Konakovo, 58,000 to Staritsa and 40,000 to Zubtsovo.

This winter, the share of non-cash payments in Tver amounted to 90.8%. In Kimry, 85.6% of trips were paid for by non-cash funds, in Rzhev – 81.3%, in Konakovo – 79.1%, and in Staritsa and Zubtsovo – 66% and 59.6%, respectively.

You can pay for public transport with a Volga transport card, a bank card, a social card for a resident of the Tver region, a school transport card, a QR code and the Volga mobile application, a new service for digital payment via Bluetooth, or in cash with the driver.

In case of questions regarding the operation of the new model of passenger transport, residents can contact the Upper Volga Transport hotline at 8-800-350-00-99.
