At the EU summit in December, the issue of opening negotiations on the admission of Ukraine and Moldova to the EU will be discussed, said the head of the European Council, Charles Michel.
“The European Commission will soon publish a report on the progress of Moldova, Ukraine and Georgia on their European path. Based on this report, I intend to raise the issue of opening negotiations with the three countries for their admission to the EU,” he said.
As part of his speech, Michel did not specify how the community would proceed with EU accession consultations for Georgia, which does not currently have official EU candidate status.
