Renault Espace is now a crossover with hybrid system

Just today the official image of the new Renault Espace was released. In the sixth generation, the car changed from a minivan to a mid-size crossover. The novelty is based on the CMF-CD architecture. The car will be powered by an E-Tech hybrid system based on a 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine. The choice of customers will be offered versions with a five-seat and seven-seat interior.

Despite the fact that the new Renault Espace has changed its body, the car has retained the family design features. The front face is crowned by a wide grille with vertical slats. The daytime running lights received a pattern already familiar from other models of the brand. The front bumper, with pronounced cheekbones, received a contrasting insert with three air intakes.

The body profile is distinguished by a set of stampings and an unpainted plastic contour frame. The stern is distinguished by a small spoiler and the original shape of the taillights. Alloy wheels with unique designs will be available in 19″ or 20″ sizes.

Inside the Renault Espace, the driver will be greeted by a 12.3-inch virtual dashboard and a 12-inch vertical central control screen. Moreover, the car can also be equipped with a 9.3-inch HUD head-up display and a Harman Kardon audio system. Naturally, there will be many electronic assistants on board. Customers will be offered a 5-seater or 7-seater cabin layout. In the first case, the luggage compartment is 159 liters, and in the second – 777 liters. If you fold the rear seats, the volume will increase to 1818 liters.

In terms of power, the new car will be equipped with an E-Tech hybrid system consisting of a 1.3-liter turbo engine and an electric motor. The total output is exactly 200 horsepower. From zero to the first “hundred” the crossover accelerates in 8.8 seconds. Average fuel consumption is only 4.7 l/100 km. With a full tank, you can cover a distance of 1100 km. Additionally, the car will also feature rear-wheel steering technology, which is rare in its class. It allows you to reduce the turning radius of the car from 5.8 meters to 5.4 meters.
