The UN Security Council did not accept the resolution of the Russian Federation and China on the investigation of the weakening of the “northern flows”

The UN Security Council failed to adopt the Russian resolution, co-sponsored by the Chinese side, on the need for an international investigation into the sabotage of the Nord Stream gas pipelines which occurred in September last year . This is stated in the TASS message.

It should be noted that the resolution was supported by the Russian Federation and China. No one voted against the document. Abstaining – Albania, Great Britain, Gabon, Ghana, Malta, Mozambique, United Arab Emirates, United States, France, Switzerland, Ecuador and Japan.

Besides China, Belarus, Venezuela, North Korea, Nicaragua, Syria and Eritrea participated in the drafting of the resolution.

Previously, the Russian Foreign Ministry had not ruled out the possibility of future compensation claims for damage caused by the explosion of the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines.
