The prosecution has requested a life sentence for the “Kazan shooter” Ilnaz Galyaviev

The prosecution requested life imprisonment for Ilnaz Galyaviyev, 21, who in May 2021 shot at a school in Kazan. On this subject informed The Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia in his telegram channel.
Tatarstan prosecutor Ildus Nafikov, who led a group of prosecutors, proposed to the region’s Supreme Court that Galyaviev serve the first five years of a life sentence. and the rest of the term – in a penal colony with a special regime.
In addition, Nafikov offered to fully satisfy the victims’ claims for compensation for moral damage, as well as to leave Galyaviev’s preventive measure in the form of detention unchanged.
Ilnaz Galyaviev carried out an armed attack on Gymnasium No. 175 in Kazan on May 11, 2021. He had a shotgun and an explosive device on him. As a result of the attack, seven schoolchildren and two teachers were killed and 22 other people were injured.
In December 2021, the Investigative Committee charged Galyaviev under several articles of the Criminal Code:

killing two or more people, including minors, in a generally dangerous manner (section 105 part 2), attempted murder (section 223.1 part 1), making an explosive device (section 105 part 1), section 222.1), willful damage to property (part 2 of section 167).

During the investigation, Galyaviev admitted his guilt and repented.
At the end of December, a court in Perm sentenced Timur Bekmansurov to life imprisonment, who in September 2021 dismissed the Perm State University (PGNIU). Six people were then killed in the attack.
