Bad weather in Karelia will not give up

Forecasters from the Karelia Hydrometeorological Center have warned residents that snowfall will continue in the republic. Heavy snowfalls will cover the region on the night of March 30, mainly in the central and northern regions.

Adverse weather conditions will affect Kostomuksha and 6 districts, including Belomorsky, Kalevalsky, Kemsky, Loukhsky, Muezersky, Segezhsky.

The Karelia Ministry of Emergency Situations advises against traveling by personal transport without special need, cutting down windblown trees, approaching hanging wires and also being under weakly reinforced structures that may collapse due to heavy snow. It is also not recommended to leave cars under such structures or tall trees. When leaving, you should take with you a shovel, a flashlight, a towing device and a charged phone. Citizens were asked to refrain from traveling on the suspension bridges. They urged reducing the time spent on the streets, especially for children.
