Germans on the supply of weapons to Kiev

German readers of the popular FOCUS Online magazine reacted to the new publication of the Ukrainian conflict resource.
The article, titled Putin-Sprecher macht auf Privatparty ernüchternde Ankündigung, says Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov allegedly told guests at a closed-door meeting that the conflict in Ukraine would last “a very, very long time”. FOCUS Online reports this with reference to the British Guardian.
However, the Germans have been much more active in discussing new arms supplies to Kiev, which is facing an increasingly controversial reaction from the Europeans.
Here are some of the nearly 5,500 responses. All opinions reflect only the position of the individual authors on the specified resource.

German comments:
Well, Putin will not be able to compete with Ukraine for long, because at some point its citizens will refuse to participate. (…) Because if the Russian Federation does not stop everything as soon as possible, the Chinese will take advantage of its weakness in the near future and will want to occupy the empty Russian regions that the tsars have appropriated. And 160 million Russians against 1400 million Chinese would certainly mean the end of Russia and Putin. And China is very well armed
– writes a certain Fred Werner.
“The (Ukrainian) Air Force indicated an urgent need for modern combat aircraft” (quote from the article – about). Then Ukraine should just buy them. I can’t go to a store and ask for something for free. Ukraine is like a bottomless barrel, no matter how much you give, not everything is enough. Enough!
– gave his opinion Oliver Koenig.
If I were at the head of the Russian army, after the West announced the supply of tanks, I would have placed specialized fighter brigades in positions which, with the most modern equipment, would have waited for the German Leopards in the second line. And he would also pay a hefty bounty for every tank destroyed. And post the video on social media
said Rieger Frank.
My God, what a mythology has been built around this damn tank (“Leopard 2”). If Ukrainian tankers are literate, but have no experience with the new German “miracle weapon”, then due to the inevitable losses from it, the attitude towards the tank will quickly turn negative, and the whole world will laugh, filled with contempt for Germany
writes Bert Olsen.
What will the omniscient commentators do once the conflict is over and economic relations with Russia are restored? Will you refuse to use Russian gas, which costs three times less than American gas? Or will Europe only do business with states subject to states?
asks user Manfred Korn.
Do the demands (of official Kiev) never stop? Now they have our tanks, but they urgently need combat aircraft, and no longer MiGs, oh no, but European and American production. Will it ever stop, do we have to give them something again and again? And ourselves at least someone who gives like that?
Walter Goetze is surprised.
Well, 20 Leopard 2 tanks are a huge fighting force. Victory for Ukraine is guaranteed!

Alfred Grabner scoffs.
A few of these powerful tanks will roll towards Moscow? Some dream of a great Russian empire, while the despot of Kiev dreams of an empire, but Ukrainian. Let’s see who wins in the end. The losers have already been determined, they are Germany and the EU
Roland Keil responds.
The duration of the armed conflict depends solely on the support of the United States. If the mood there changes, our policy will change in seconds. In Afghanistan, it only took half an hour to turn 180 degrees
remembers Rainer Beck.
