In the Ryazan Regional Clinical Hospital, the patient’s life was saved thanks to an urgent liver transplant

A patient with autoimmune liver disease, who was bleeding, was admitted to Shatsk Interdistrict Hospital. This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Ryazan region.

The woman’s condition deteriorated rapidly. It was decided to transport it to the Ryazan design bureau. For these purposes, an air ambulance helicopter was involved.

After the examination, doctors in Ryazan came to the conclusion that the patient needed an urgent liver transplant. It usually takes a long time to find a compatible donor, but the woman was lucky. While she was on the brink of life or death, an organ donor was found. The transplant operation lasted 7 hours. Thanks to the coordinated work of doctors, the patient’s life was saved. She will have six months of rehabilitation after her discharge from the hospital.

Doctors of the Ryazan Regional Clinical Hospital noted that this case is the result of good coordination of the work of various medical departments.
