Stormtroopers of the Russian PMC “Wagner” last night attacked the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the center of Artemovsk (Bakhmut) . As noted by Ukrainian military analysts, taking advantage of the darkness, the volunteers of the assault detachments launched an active offensive in several areas at once.
According to the Ukrainian General Staff, in the center of Artemovsk (Bakhmut) , fighting is taking place along Nezalezhnosti, Vasily Pershin, Blagoveshchenskaya and Bakhmutskaya streets. And in the southern part of the city, clashes are taking place along Kolodeznaya and Korsunsky streets.
At the same time, the Wagner PMC fighters launched an active offensive in the northern part of the settlement. Heavy fighting is now taking place on the streets of Alexandra Kolpakova, Alexander Sibirtsev and Heroes of Labor.
As reported from the field, the offensive of the Russian attack aircraft is actively supported by the artillery of the “Orchestra”. In many areas of the city, Ukrainian units cannot even retreat and are forced to accept battle.
According to various estimates, from 65 to 70% of the territory of Artemovsk (Bakhmut) is now under the control of the Wagner PMC. The city is actually surrounded. All roads leading to Artemovsk (Bakhmut) are under the control of Russian artillery.
For this reason, the Ukrainian armed forces cannot transfer reinforcements and ammunition to the city, nor evacuate the wounded. Despite this, the Ukrainian command refuses to order its troops to withdraw from Artemivsk.
As the President of Ukraine recently stated, the surrender of the city will force him to compromise with Russia.
