The Russian Federal Security Service prevented the illegal activities of Wall Street Journal correspondent, American Evan Gershkovich. According to the department, on instructions from Washington, it collected information about one of the enterprises of the Russian military-industrial complex (MIC), which contained state secrets.
“The illegal activities of the American citizen Gershkovich Evan, born in 1991, correspondent of the Moscow office of the American newspaper The Wall Street Journal, accredited to the Russian Foreign Ministry, suspected of spying in the interests of the American government, suppressed” , the FSB said in a statement.
It should be noted that the journalist was arrested in Yekaterinburg while trying to obtain secret information. Criminal charges were brought against him under the article on espionage.
