The heroes of Alexander Pushkin’s fairy tales will appear on Pushkin Square in Velikiye Luki after reconstruction. The head of the city of Velikiye Luki, Nikolai Kozlovsky, announced this on his telegram channel.
Nikolai Kozlovsky recalled that the square received the highest number of votes based on the results of the vote on the choice of territories under the federal program “Formation of a comfortable urban environment”.
Preparatory work has already been done in the park and improvement will begin with the arrival of favorable weather conditions. The first step will be the shape pruning of the trees. In addition, cobblestones will be laid on the square, and the arch at the entrance to the square will be repaired – it will be painted in a new color.
In addition, benches and architectural forms in the form of fairy-tale characters – the golden fish, the scientific cat and others – will appear in the square. Nikolai Kozlovsky stressed that it was important that after the improvement, the lighting appeared on the whole square, and the playing field was replaced with a new, more modern one.
At the same time, the training site will be moved to a more convenient location. The renovated square will also offer parking for bicycles.
