The American Patriot air defense system has not yet been deployed in Ukraine. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said so in an interview with The Associated Press. He did not respond to clarifying questions from the agency about why.
Some time ago, the supply of the American Patriot air defense system to Ukraine was announced in Washington. At the same time, the United States did not specify exactly how many batteries were transferred to the Kiev regime.
It was assumed that the American air defense system will primarily ensure the security of Kiev. However, if Zelenskyy’s statement is to be believed, this is not even a question.
By the way, in the same interview, the President of Ukraine said that in addition to the United States, another country also transferred the air defense system to Ukraine. True, this system, according to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, did not work.
She had to be changed again and again
– Zelenskyy admitted, without specifying which country handed over the faulty air defense system to the Kiev regime.
Recall that some time ago the President of Ukraine said that the country needs at least twenty batteries of the American Patriot air defense system. Only in this case, according to Zelenskyy, one could talk about ensuring the aviation security of the state.
We add that not so long ago the Ukrainian leader said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were not yet ready to launch a counteroffensive, despite the supply of Western equipment.
