Ashghal’s 10th Ramadan Championship 2023 competitions, which are held in cooperation with football, basketball, table tennis, billiards and snooker federations, have started. More than 660 players are participating in the tournament, competing in the Qatar Club stadiums in 6 games, which are football, basketball, padel, table tennis, billiards, and electronic games (PlayStation). 23 teams in football, 18 teams in basketball, and 42 A player in table tennis and 20 players in padel, in addition to 24 players competing in billiards and 20 players in the Playstation.
Mr. Abdullah Saad Al Saad, Director of Public Relations and Communication Department at Ashghal, confirmed that the tenth Ramadan tournament differs from its predecessors, as it is the most participating in the history of Ramadan tournaments organized by Ashghal, with many of the Authority’s employees and local and international companies participating. The Director of the Public Relations and Communications Department thanked the football, basketball, table tennis, billiards and snooker federations, as well as Qatar Club and the participating companies for their cooperation in making the tournament a success this year and bringing it out in the best way, calling on everyone to follow the annual tournament competitions.
For his part, Mr. Hamad Nasser Al Nuaimi, Director of Ashghal’s 10th Ramadan Tournament, said that the Ramadan tournament this year will witness a great momentum due to the size of its participants, as more than 660 players compete in 6 games, which is the largest number of competitors ever since Ashghal’s organization. For Ramadan tournaments, for example, 345 players participate in football matches and 216 players participate in basketball, which will certainly contribute to the high level of the tournament. He added that the first day of the tournament witnessed 6 confrontations in the first round of football competitions, in which 23 teams participated, and they were divided into 6 groups competing in 40 matches, so that the first and second of each group qualified for the second round.
