Rodina, candidate in legal sciences, arrested in Moscow for calling for terrorism
The Tverskoy court in Moscow sent Yelena Rodina, a candidate of legal sciences, to a remand center for a month for incitement to terrorism. This was reported to the court.
The case was opened under Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Public calls for terrorist activities” via the Internet. Rodina, by court order, will remain in a remand center until April 25. The verdict has not entered into force and can be appealed.
Homeland – originally from Sevastopol, lives in Moscow. It is also known that she taught at the Customs Academy of Russia. She partially admitted her guilt and, before the opening of the case, she was summoned to the prosecution, where she said she had “deleted prohibited content”.
What kind of publications she made, is not reported. She faces up to seven years in prison.
