Today, the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies organized the fifth edition of the event "Cultural day"It is held annually during the month of Ramadan to celebrate the cultural, social and linguistic diversity that characterizes the Institute’s atmosphere. The event, in which students from many nationalities participated, included paragraphs that reflected the cultural heritage of their countries, customs, and heritage in terms of popular foods, traditional costumes, history, languages, and dialects. Various activities were presented, including traditional crafts, shipbuilding, competitions, the Prophet’s Praise Band, poetry and folklore performances. In this context, Ms. Iman Al-Sulaiti, Executive Director of the Administrative and Financial Sector at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies, explained that this event is the best expression of the richness and cultural diversity that characterizes the Institute’s environment, as it brings together students, professors and employees from all over the world, providing an opportunity to learn about their traditions and diverse cultures. And their rich heritage, adding that the cultural day stems from the centrality of culture as a bridge of communication and understanding between peoples with the aim of enriching the values of diversity and close contact with the cultures, customs and traditions of other countries, through recreational activities that are characterized by fun and positive participation, and constitute an opportunity for harmony and synergy in this holy month, as students perform By presenting shows that represent their countries, and this is an opportunity to know what we do not know about these cultures or know little about them. For her part, Ms. Nasima Abdeen, Director of Student Affairs, confirmed that the Institute hosts more than 40 Arab and foreign nationalities, and it is important to activate community activities within the Institute’s campus, to increase and enrich cultural values and knowledge.
