The seriousness of his injury is not yet known but it appears to be not minor. Williamson sustained the injury after falling near the boundary while saving a six off Ruturaj Gaikwad. He was carried off the field and did not return to the field. After winning the match, Gujarat captain Hardik Pandya had said, ‘He has got a knee injury but I don’t know the seriousness of the injury. And don’t even know how long it will take to recover. I just sent him a message. He is being scanned and only after that we will know.In Auckland, New Zealand head coach Gary Stead said Williamson’s injury was a blow to the team. “We don’t know the extent of his injury,” he said. His checkup is being done after which it will be known. It’s never nice to see anyone get hurt. This is a big blow for him and for us too.
