FFR: there is no hope of going to the Paris Olympics

Given the nature of the requirements of the International Olympic Committee, Russian and Belarusian athletes have no chance of making it to the Paris Olympics in 2024, said Russian Fencing Federation (FFR) President Ilgar Mammadov .

According to him, the demands of the IOC are unacceptable.

“With these IOC conditions, there is no hope of going to Paris. You have to sell your soul to the devil and go to Paris or remain a normal person,” he said.

According to him, the conditions for the selection of Russian and Belarusian athletes are unrealistic.

Previously, the IOC had recommended that the international federations set up special commissions which will study the question of the admission of Russians and Belarusians. After that, many criticized the IOC for abdicating its responsibility and throwing it on the international federations.
