It is dedicated to the memory of popular artist Tatyana Ustinova
On April 1, Tver hosts the Interregional Festival of Russian Folk Dance, dedicated to the 115th anniversary of the birth of the great Russian choreographer Tatyana Alekseevna Ustinova.
Tatyana Alekseevna Ustinova – a native of the Tver country and an honorary citizen of the city of Tver, People’s Artist of the USSR, laureate of the State Prizes of the USSR and the RSFSR, teacher, chief choreographer of the Russian State Academic Folk Choir. Mr Pyatnitsky.
“We are proud of the contribution of those who were born, worked and work in the Upper Volga region to the history of Russian literature, painting, sculpture, architecture, urban planning , theatrical and musical art. Today it is important to preserve and perpetuate these traditions, to ensure the education of the younger generation on the basis of our primordial spiritual and moral values,” Governor Igor Rudenya said.
More than 500 artists from 20 choreographic groups from Tver, Moscow, Tambov, regions, Moscow and St. Petersburg take part in the festival.
The festival is held in the year of the teacher and mentor, because Tatyana Ustinova herself, being an excellent master, never forgot her colleagues and students, helping them with her vast experience.
