Cold nights in Doha and Gulf capitals during the month of April… What’s the story?

As Doha and the regions of the State of Qatar enter on the second cold night, and it is almost very cold, many are wondering on social media and in the councils about the reason for this cold wave with the advent of the month of April, which is known for its gradual rise in temperatures, leading to summer.

According to the Meteorological Department, Ruwais and Dukhan recorded, on Sunday, a maximum of 21 degrees Celsius, while it was not far from Doha, the capital, where a number of areas recorded between 23-25 degrees Celsius for the maximum temperature.

The administration expects to continue monitoring strong northwesterly winds, with gusts exceeding 30 knots sometimes in some areas, calling for caution.

The same thing was repeated in a number of Gulf capitals that are witnessing a cold wave.. Is there a relationship to the climate changes that are taking place in a number of regions of the world, or is there something else in the matter?

According to the Arab Weather website, the Arabian Gulf, especially the countries bordering it, such as Qatar and the eastern coasts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, all the way to the coasts of the Emirates, have been affected since yesterday, Saturday, and during today, Sunday, by an air mass with temperatures lower than their rates, rushing from the north, as temperatures continue to drop dramatically. It is remarkable, with strong northwesterly winds blowing, causing dust and dirt. The site says that the less hot air mass has been rushing towards the waters of the Arabian Gulf since Saturday and initially affecting Qatar, Bahrain and the eastern coasts of Saudi Arabia, so there will be a sharp and significant drop in temperatures compared to the previous days, and the weather will be pleasant in terms of temperatures that will be in the same levels. Twenties in most areas during daylight hours, and there is a noticeable decrease in night temperatures, so that the weather is relatively cold in the interior regions during the late night and early morning hours, which necessitates wearing warmer clothes. The Qatar Meteorological Department expects sudden changes in the weather, as cumulus clouds form, causing thunderstorms and sometimes dust storms.

Earlier today, the Meteorological Department warned of strong winds on some areas of the coast and of strong winds and high waves at sea, expecting that the weather tonight, until six o’clock tomorrow, Monday, on the coast, will be relatively cold and accompanied by some clouds and dust raised in some areas. ..and at sea it will be clear with some clouds.
