Why Kuwait suspended 16000 manpower licences?

An official in the Kuwaiti Public Authority for Manpower told Al-Qabas newspaper that what was mentioned about the suspension of 16,000 work permits for expatriates in the private sector, pending verification of the integrity of their academic certificates, is inaccurate, stressing that the authority is constantly working to check the certificates of workers in the private sector and make sure Safety in accordance with the procedures and laws governing.

The source confirmed that there is no tendency to stop 16,000 work permits to ensure the integrity of their procedures, and stressed that the workforce is continuing to stop those whose papers or academic certificates prove to be incorrect, indicating that the audit includes each case separately.

It has revealed that the Kuwaiti government has suspended the renewal of work permits for 16,000 expatriates in various sectors, pending verification of the validity of their educational certificates.

The newspaper quoted unnamed sources as saying that the Public Authority for Manpower had stopped renewing work permits for 16,000 expatriates in the financial, banking, accounting and other sectors. “Until the verification of the validity of their academic certificates and their conformity with the job titles in which they work”.

Ministry indicated that the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior, represented by the Counterfeiting and Forgery Department of the Criminal Investigation Department, “One of the Arab countries addressed dozens of university degrees in important practical disciplines”.

They pointed out that “The concerned authorities in this country responded that these certificates have no basis in reality, and legal measures are being taken against their owners”.
