Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the creation of a fund to support participants of the military operation in Ukraine and their families called “Defenders of the Fatherland”. Document published on the legal information portal.
According to the decree, the fund will help fight veterans who participated in the military operation since February 24, 2023 and participants in the conflict in Donbass since 2014.
Beneficiaries of the fund will also include family members of service members who died in the line of duty or who died after being discharged from duty due to injury, wounds, injury or illness. incurred in the performance of tasks.
According to the decree, the founder of the fund is the Russian government, and the supreme body is the supervisory board, chaired by the first deputy head of the presidential administration, Sergei Kiriyenko.
The council will include, among others, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova, Assistant to the Head of Chechnya, Special Forces Commander Ahmad Apty Alaudinov, TV presenters Yulia Baranovskaya and Vladimir Solovyov, war correspondent Evgeny Poddubny, Duma Deputy Dmitry Sablin and Senator Andrei Turchak.
Anna Tsivilev, the wife of the governor of the Kemerovo region, Sergei Tsivilev, has been appointed president of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation. She is a member of the government council for guardianship in the social field, as well as the council of the Eurasian Women’s Forum under the Federation Council.
The Agency project calls Tsivileva the cousin of Vladimir Putin, claiming that her father is the cousin of the President of Russia. Tsivileva herself called the question of kinship with Putin “absurd” and “stupid”. Vladimir Putin ordered the creation of a fund to help the participants of the military operation and their families in a message to the Federal Assembly on February 21, 2023. The organization will provide military personnel and their families with medical, psychological , legal, as well as assistance with employment, retraining, rehabilitation, re-equipment of housing for the needs of disabled people, etc.
