The Career Development Center in the Student Affairs Sector at Qatar University is the link between Qatar University students and employers. The program aims to prepare and refine the skills of students at Qatar University to reach their career aspirations, develop their job performance skills and prepare them for their professional future. The program includes ten training workshops each semester, and these workshops are designed according to the needs of Qatar University students and according to the recommendations of employers to enhance professional skills and work efficiency after graduation.
The center also offers free services to all QU students, such as the Student Employment Program, which aims to provide part-time job opportunities on campus to hone students’ professional and life skills, the most important of which is time management between academic and job tasks, developing communication skills and building self-confidence. On the other hand, the center provides opportunities for academic sponsorship, field training, and employment for graduates. In addition to the vocational guidance services that aim to determine the appropriate specialization for the student, guide him to write a CV, help him develop his skills in passing a personal job interview, and provide training workshop programs such as the vocational qualification program.
In her speech, Ms. Ghadir Muhammad Zainal, Acting Director of the Professional Development Center, indicated that the vocational rehabilitation program contributes to preparing and qualifying Qatar University students to enter the labor market in the future by supporting and enhancing the university student with professional and life skills that make him a competitor for the best professional opportunities. offered by the labor market.
For her part, Ms. Noura Al-Tamimi, Senior Professional Development Specialist, confirmed that during the preparation of the program, focus is placed on attracting the best trainers to train students and transfer experience to them. The number of beneficiaries of this program is more than (250) male and female students per semester, which combines workshops that are held virtually and face-to-face, and the program receives excellent feedback among Qatar University students.
