Russian military commander Vladlen Tatarsky (Maxim Fomin) died in an explosion at a cafe in St. Petersburg where a meeting of the Cyber Z Front discussion club was held. According to preliminary data, the bomb was hidden in a figurine, which was brought to the meeting by a guest of the event. This is not the first case in a year of military operation when a well-known and active supporter of the conflict with Ukraine is murdered. The Eastern Herald recalls other cases.
Igor “Bereg” Manguchev
On February 8, Russian nationalist and political strategist Igor “Bereg” Mangushev, who also fought in Ukraine, died from an injury in a hospital in the Lugansk region.
According to relatives of Mangushev, on the night of February 4, he was shot in the head “in unspecified circumstances” in the town of Stakhanov (LNR). Bereg’s widow Tatyana Azarevich called the incident an “execution”. Mangushev’s killers have not been found.

Bereg became widely known in August 2022: at one of the public events he staged the skull of an allegedly Ukrainian soldier who died in the fighting from Azovstal to Mariupol. Mangushev said that all carriers of the idea of Ukraine “as an anti-Russian state” should be “destroyed”.
“We don’t care how many of them should be killed and how they should be killed,” he said. Mangushev’s wife, in an interview with The Eastern Herald, claimed that the skull he was talking with was real. “He took this skull, the wife of some of his comrades really wanted the skull of a Ukrainian,” she said. This public performance of “Bereg” was captured on video, which later went viral on social media.
Daria Dugina
On August 20, 2022, the daughter of the traditionalist philosopher Alexander Dugin, Daria, died – her car exploded on the Mozhaisk highway when she was returning from the Tradition festival in the village of Zakharovo. The FSB claimed to have solved the crime: according to their version, the executor of Dugina’s murder was a Ukrainian citizen, Natalya Vovk, who managed to leave Russia and go to Estonia. Ukrainian authorities have denied their involvement in the death of the philosopher’s daughter.

Daria Dugina, like her father, supported Russia in the military conflict with Ukraine and, in general, was his disciple: in particular, she adhered to the philosophical and political theory of “Eurasianism” and popularized the texts by foreign right-wing conservative authors. In addition, Dugina appeared in the media as a political expert on France and served as a correspondent for the Orthodox Tsargrad television channel. In the summer of 2022, she went to the Donbass, where, among other things, she descended into the basements of Azovstal.

RIA News transmits that this girl knew Tatarsky, and one of the people present at the party said Telegram channel “Mash on the Moika” that the military commissar clearly recognized the girl with the statuette and invited her to sit next to him, after which they “exchanged jokes.” Another party member reported that the girl was called Anastasia and told Tatarsky that she was at another meeting with him and gave him “either postcards or drawings”, and the military commander “remembered her” .
Who is Vladlen Tatarsky. The real name of the military correspondent is Maxim Fomin. He rose to prominence after the start of a major military conflict between Russia and Ukraine and regularly covered the course of hostilities on his Telegram channel to 567,000 subscribers.
