A draft law on contributions from low-income citizens will be submitted to the Russian State Duma for consideration during the spring session.According to Anatoly Aksakov, chairman of the State Duma committee on the financial market, interest rates on such deposits will be increased, writes RIA Novosti. The parliamentarian added that deposit rates for poor Russians are unlikely to fall below the key interest rate, some parameters are being finalized, discussions are underway with the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, other banking institutions, as well as with the Ministry of Finance.Aksakov explained that citizens will be included in the list of low-income people based on their income. To do this, they will create a special information system that will allow you to see a person’s income, as well as determine his actual expenses. In addition, regional particularities will be taken into account. The system will make it possible to more transparently determine a person’s actual well-being.We add that the idea of creating special deposits for low-income Russians at the end of 2021 was proposed by the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.See also: In Russia, the share of borrowers with two or more loans exceeded 50% for the first time.
