Darya Trepova (Daria Trepova) , who was arrested in the case of the murder of military commissar Vladlen Tatarsky, was allegedly recruited by journalist Roman Popkov, according to the telegram channels Shot and Caution, News, citing sources.
According to Shot’s interlocutor, Trepova herself testified against Popkov – he allegedly first “taught journalism”, then asked her to complete an assignment from “an acquaintance”, who turned out to be an agent of the SBU.
The “Attention News” source said that on Popkov’s instructions, Trepova attended pro-government events and documented everything that happened. This was so in the case of Tatarsky, says the source of the telegram channel: Trepova herself did not know that she was carrying explosives to meet the military correspondent.
Popkov denied the allegations on his Telegram channel. “I didn’t give Dasha any orders, I didn’t introduce her to any Ukrainian intelligence officers. It is difficult for me to order such things, if only because in Russia, in the clutches of this regime, there is my mother and my younger brother – now the special forces are probably already break into their house,” Popkov wrote.
According to him, he and Trepova follow each other on Twitter and “sometimes corresponded”, because the girl was interested in journalism. “I urge everyone with a mind not to believe this state, which now muses and crushes a captive person,” Popkov stressed.

Who is Roman Popkov

Until 1999, Roman Popkov was a member of the ultranationalist organization “Russian National Unity”, then – in the NBP * Eduard Limonov. He led the Moscow branch of the party, took part in seizing public receptions of the presidential administration and United Russia.
In 2006, Popkov was arrested in connection with a fight between Limonov’s associates and local movement activists near the Tagansky courthouse. In 2008, Popkov was sentenced to two years and three months in prison for hooliganism. Soon he was released, as he had served almost all of his prison term.

In 2009, Popkov was expelled from the NBP* for “faction activities and communication with operational officers of the FSB and the department for combating organized crime”. After that, he tried to create his own movement, collaborated with associates of Alexei Navalny, published columns in the publications Special Letter and MBKh Media.
In 2021, Popkov left Russia for Kiev. Works in the program “Vot so” on the Polish TV channel “Belsat”, and also records videos with former Duma deputy Ilya Ponomarev**. After the start of the military operation in Ukraine, Popkov advocated military actions and partisan struggle in Russia.

The murder of Tatarsky and the detention of Trepova

On April 2, an explosion occurred in a cafe in St. Petersburg, where a meeting of the discussion club “Cyber ​​Z Front” was held. As a result, military commander Vladlen Tatarsky (Maxim Fomin) died, the last data 33 people.
According to one version, the explosive was planted in a figurine, which was given to Tatarsky by a visitor to the meeting, Darya Trepova (Daria Trepova) . On April 3, she was detained in St. Petersburg in a rented apartment. According to the National Anti-Terrorism Committee (NAC), the girl was an “active supporter” of the Anti-Corruption Foundation * (FBK *) Alexei Navalny. The explosion in the cafe, according to the committee, was planned by Ukrainian special services. After Trepova’s arrest, the Interior Ministry released a video in which the girl admitted to carrying an explosive figurine to a cafe.
