The new issue of (Qatar Monthly Statistics Bulletin) issued by the Planning and Statistics Authority monitored the most prominent economic, social and financial changes in the country during the month of February. Among the most prominent variables monitored by the bulletin is the increase in the value of the broad money supply (2) by 11.3 percent on an annual basis, to about 702 billion riyals compared to the same month of 2022, while the value of quasi-money, which includes commercial bank deposits, amounted to about 950 billion riyals during February 2023. This marked an annual decrease of 1.5 percent compared to February 2022, when the total deposits at that time were about 964 billion riyals. The bulletin indicated that the total number of new vehicles registered during the month of February amounted to 5,862 new vehicles, a monthly decrease of 8.2 percent, and an annual decrease of 15 percent. As for data related to traffic accident cases without counting accidents without injuries, their total number reached 668 during February 2023, with a monthly decrease of 15.2 percent, and an annual decrease of 2.1 percent. Light injuries recorded the vast majority of traffic accident cases during the same month, with a rate of 91 percent, followed by Severe injuries increased by 7 percent, and as for deaths, they amounted to 13 deaths, equivalent to only 2 percent of the total traffic accident cases. With regard to vital statistics, the total number of live births reached 2,055 during the month of February, and the total number of Qatari live births decreased by 5.6 percent compared to last month, while the total number of deaths reached 213 recorded deaths, a decrease of 9.7 percent compared to January 2023. The month witnessed The same month decreased by 8.6 percent and 17.2 percent in total marriage contracts and total divorce certificates, respectively, as the total number of marriage contracts reached 310 marriage contracts, while the total number of divorce certificates reached 106 divorce cases. As for tourism, the total number of inbound visitors reached about 389 thousand, with a monthly increase of 14.3 percent (compared to January 2023). It also increased annually by 406.3 percent (for February 2022). The largest number of visitors came from the GCC countries at 38 percent. As for visitors by type of port, visitors by air constituted the highest percentage in the future, accounting for 44 percent of the total number of visitors. Meanwhile, the data showed an increase in the total number of properties sold during the month of February by 69.8 percent, while their value increased during the same period by 78.8 percent, compared to the previous month. In the same context, with regard to the data of building permits issued, their total number reached 644 permits during the month of February 2023, recording a monthly decrease of 10.7 percent, and an annual decrease of 7.6 percent. As for social security data, its value amounted to 77 million riyals last February for 14,245 beneficiaries, recording a monthly decrease of 1.2 percent for the value of social security. It also witnessed a monthly decrease of 0.3 percent for the number of social security beneficiaries.
