The creator of the monument to Zhirinovsky explained what he meant

People’s Artist of the Russian Federation Andrei Kovalchuk has created a full-length bronze sculpture of politician Vladimir Zhirinovsky. A 2.75-meter-high monument is to be erected over the grave of a political figure at the Novodevichy Cemetery in Moscow.

Kovalchuk said that in the figure of Zhirinovsky, he wanted to convey a strong-willed and decisive character, “constant readiness for battle and struggle.”

The monument will be open to the public after all official ceremonies on April 6, the anniversary of Zhirinovsky’s death.

Kovalchuk pointed out that bronze is a very strong and noble metal, good for monuments, which allows for accurately conveying the main features of the face – in the case of Zhirinovsky, this is especially important, Kovalchuk believes.

The pedestal is made of two types of granite – black-brown and greenish. A quote from the politician will be engraved on the base; its content has not yet been disclosed. The inscription is applied according to Zhirinovsky’s will.
