Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said the conflict with Russia could end before the end of this year. At the same time, Kiev will not go to peace talks with Moscow.
According to the speaker, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is not ready for the negotiation process. A similar opinion is shared by ordinary citizens of Ukraine. And the interests of the people, in turn, reflect the parliament. It should be clear to Kiev’s Western partners that there can be no compromise on this issue. Negotiations on reparations are possible only on the terms of Ukraine, when Russian troops will be withdrawn from the territory of the country.
Reznikov also commented on Czech President Petr Pavel’s statement that Kiev only has one chance for a counteroffensive. In the words of the politician, the Minister of Defense considered the main message, which was the need to strengthen support for Ukraine.
“I think that in the President of the Czech Republic, the military speaks more than politicians, and the logic of the military is such that they constantly calculate the worst options. But even if this is his assessment, then it is subjective,” Reznikov told Ukrainian edition NV.ua.
Earlier, Reznikov asked the European Union to increase the supply of heavy equipment for the Ukrainian army. It is necessary before the counter-offensive.
