Jassim Salman inaugurates the “Ibn Battuta Secret Manuscript”

Writer and journalist Jassim Salman launched his new novel, “Ibn Battuta’s Secret Manuscript”, about Dar Al-Rafidain and Al-Watad, in the presence of the exhibition’s visitors, a large number of intellectuals and social media pioneers. In his statements to Qatari media, writer Jassim Salman expressed his sincere happiness at the launch of this new work, which is his third. Pointing out that the novel is an imagined historical version, closer to believability and reality, as the recipient reads the work as if it were an actual manuscript of the most famous Arab traveler, Ibn Battuta. The writer, Jassem Salman, said: The novel is close to reaching uncharted areas and places where travelers roam, and that the narration in it has turned into points of light about many secrets and wonders in a manner in which literature blends with art and history, with many hidden facts. Pointing out that the novel, although historical, has an artistic style, boldly drafted in harmony with the aspirations and questions of history readers who do not find their way in it, as many meanings of closeness are embodied in the protagonists of the novel, and many facts are presented. The work is an attempt to re-read Ibn Battuta again, to restore all this legacy that Ibn Battuta left behind, without neglecting to link the present to the past, just as the writer did not miss silent facts such as slavery, intrigues in the Middle Ages, and hidden wars and intrigues.
