Lithuanian President Nauseda called joining CPSU a youthful mistake – Reuters

“Immediately after graduating, I was faced with an offer of party membership in the name of great career opportunities as a scientist. Upon reflection, I succumbed to this,” the agency reports. according to the words of the Head of State.

Nauseda claims he did not listen to his mother, who talked him out of it, as he was “an ambitious and foolishly stubborn young man”.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Lithuanian President’s administration confirmed to the agency that the head of state, Gitanas Nausėda, is a member of the CPSU.

The climax of this story is that, participating in the presidential elections of 2019, Nausėda, in the questionnaire of the electoral commission, decided not to answer the question of which political party or organization he was or was a member of, knowing his own pass . But the presidential office says it was not necessary to answer this question then.
