Orel lifeguards use mobile app to identify dead grass

In the Oryol region, with the onset of spring, cases of burning dry grass began to occur more and more often. Every day, employees of the regional department of the Ministry of Emergencies visit such emergencies. To quickly identify thermal points, rescuers use modern technologies, for example, the Thermal Points mobile application. The next old grass fires happened yesterday, April 4th. The experts recorded 26 thermal points. Of these, 15 have been confirmed. The total area burned was over 21 hectares. According to the press service of the department, sunbathing was recorded in Uritsky, Shablykinsky, Dolzhansky, Korsakovsky, Zalegoshchensky, Bolkhovsky, Mtsensk and Trosnyansky districts, Orlovsky municipal district.

On all the facts, the Ministry of Emergency Situations is investigating. To date, 67 protocols have been issued for dry grass burning. Of these, 8 – on the imposition of fines in the total amount of 40,000 rubles and 59 – on the warning.
