Zebras enter the summer enclosures of the Rostov Zoo

Other animals were released into the outdoor corral. In the zoo in the capital of the Don, Chapman’s zebras entered their summer enclosures on April 5.

The photos were shared by employees on their social networks. In the footage, African animals run around the open enclosure. During the winter, they probably lacked fresh air and sunshine.

The male and female were brought to Rostov from the Czech Republic, the city of Brno, in 2012. When they moved to Don Zoo, they were teenagers. Now the animals have grown and are ready to give birth. The zebras are still a little shy, but despite this they love to pose to photograph visitors. They eat fresh grass and love spending time frolicking in the fresh air.

Zoo keepers expect to receive their offspring soon.

Recall that zebras do not have a specific breeding season. The gestation of the female lasts 11 months. Usually a zebra gives birth to a foal in 2-3 years.
