Foreigner in Sakhalin sentenced to 12 years in prison for helping terrorists

On Sakhalin, he sentenced a 37-year-old citizen of one of the republics of the Central Asian region to 12 years in prison for helping to prepare crimes of a terrorist nature, informs the press service of the FSB department of Russia in the region.

The first three years he will remain in prison, then he will be sent to a strict regime penal colony.

The man is a follower of the radical movements of Islam. He lived in Sakhalin and communicated online with an active member of an international terrorist organization. In one of the conversations, he confirmed that he had decided to participate in the activities of the radical structure.

Fulfilling the role assigned to him within the framework of a prohibited organization, he repeatedly transferred money for the needs of militants and provided them with other assistance to prepare for the commission of crimes of a terrorist nature.
